Boy, have I auditioned for some wacky fun roles lately! In addition to film auds, I've been getting called in for sitcoms now that the strike has been over. I've had three producers sessions! Yay for me. I've been meeting casting directors I've never met before, and they've all given me good feedback and called me in for other roles. Last week I had 5 auditions one day (which is insane just managing the logistics of traffic alone) and I ended up booking one of them. Things have been good. :)
My dojo recently had our Spring Interdojo Tournament Fundraiser on March 15, and I entered in two events, kata (forms) and kumite (sparring). Now that I am a green belt, I can compete in kumite.
I won first place in Women's Kata (Colored Belt Division) and first place in Women's Kumite. I did Gekisai Dai Kata. Our next interdojo tournament is in September, and then I am planning on going to NY to compete in Worldwide Seido Tournament in October.
I got my print ad back from my Walmart and Midas shoots. I've been working on the nicest sets lately, it's been so wonderful.

January has started my year off with a bang! Financially I did really well with four print jobs and two video shoots. I also switched theatrical representation, and within the first two weeks they've already sent me on seven auditions including The Grudge 3, Paul Blart:Mall Cop (a new Kevin James movie), two pilots, an indie film, a Fox Searchlight film, and a made for TV movie. I've had fifteen commercial auditions in the past two weeks. I feel very blessed and grateful with my new commercial and theatrical representation working so hard for me, and I've been busting my butt 150%.
While I'm still waiting to get the prints from some of my recent shoots, I heard that my friend's mom saw the Wal-Mart ad in a NY newspaper a couple of days ago. A lot of people have been telling me about seeing me in the Franklin Templeton commercial. I screamed when I finally saw it myself, hee hee! I saw it a couple of times during the Australian Open, and they air it a lot now on the National Geographic Channel.
Here are some pics from a recent stock shoot with Reggie Casagrande:
I've rewarded myself with a toy I've wanted for a looong time.. unlimited web 24/7, unlimited txt, GPS, dual slider with full keyboard.

What an amazing year 2008 is turning out to be... barely two weeks into the year and I've already lost 5 pounds and booked THREE print jobs!!
The first modeling job was as a nurse practitioner for Medelita scrubs and should be up on their website in March. The second was for LA Times as a promo for CareerBuilder, and it is scheduled to be on billboards, newspaper racks, and full page ads in about two weeks. I've never been on a billboard before, gasp!
My third shoot is scheduled for this Friday for Wal-Mart that is going to run nationwide in Asian newspapers around Chinese New Year. I've booked the last 5 out of 6 print jobs I've auditioned for :)
I feel very fortunate for these print jobs especially with the current situation in Hollywood. I would like this year for me to be filled with overcoming struggles, perseverance, and personal growth.
11.27.07 Wowza, exciting news!! I just booked a big print job for Nationwide Insurance and they're flying me out to Tampa, Florida next week. My flight there is first-class! It's extra meaningful to me because it'll be an experience in my life of many firsts - first time I've ever been flown anywhere for a job, first time flying first-class, first time going to Florida!
I also just finished shooting a lead role in a USC graduate thesis film on Monday. I've had so many things to be grateful for this Thanksgiving :)

It was my birthday on November 2, and it was the best one ever - filled with laughs, indulgences, resolutions, and forgiveness. I'm at a really good point in my life.
Since then, I've been incredibly blessed with success - I just shot a lead in a national commercial, have two upcoming print jobs, with a possibility of a third one. Nothing I like better than being busy busy busy :) I also heard from Bay Area friends that a show I hosted named "Wedding Television" more than three years ago has begun airing on KMTP.
On a random note, I've been fascinated with ambidexterity since childhood. I'm clearly not even close when it comes to writing words, but I was so surprised when I tried sketching with my left hand for the first time recently:
Somehow I have a better initial grasp of proportions with my left hand and I'm much faster in translating it onto the page. I sketched each of those above images in under 5 seconds. Very strange. With my right hand I have to constantly erase and fix until I get realistic images to even remotely resemble something:

Armed with my beloved Bic mechanical, I decided to try and sketch something in my style southpaw fashion, and here it is on the appropriate side (click to see full image size):
